VR PROG FEST- MOONGARDEN + SILVER KEY: Evento musica progressiva il 30 Aprile 2019

Evento musica progressiva

The band is born at the beginning of the 90's, with a demo containing a few songs written and arranged by Cristiano Roversi and David Cremoni, which the Italian label Mellow Records soon after released as the first Moongardens album named Moonsadness. A few months later, Cris and David recorded with a different line up two covers for The first Italian tribute to Genesis. The chance of working on a full length album came with the "Brainstorm of Emptyness" sessions. This is the second official release under Mellow Records, but in many ways the first real Moongardens one. This cd has also seen the entrance of Massimiliano Sorrentini on drums and Ricki Tonco on vocals. Moreover, during this period, the band published a cover called "There Will be Time" by Osanna for The 70's Italian Progressive tribute album. After that, Moongarden went through a long period of inactivity, due to several personal troubles, and it took more than 4 years before Cristiano decided to start working hard on new material, actually giving new life to the project. Luca Palleschi joined the band as the new official vocalist, and a few months later the new album was ready. The Gates of Omega, third official release, represents so far the most complex and mature work produced by the band, and has obtained enthusiastic comments by both public and critics. Further to this last publication, Moongarden have finally set the basis for a more intense musical activity: , a successful series of concerts and live performances around Europe, a new label, Galileo records, and the fourth album Round Midnight....... Max Sorrentini and Luca left the band in 2005 for human and artistic divergences....after a year we finally find a new line up with the singer Simone Baldini Tosi (he was the singer of the first album Moonsadness) and the drummer Maurizio Di Tollo. In the early 2008 Moongarden release the album called SONGS FROM THE LIGHTHOUSE with the outstanding artwork of the famous cover artist Ed Unitsky. .....after this.....madness......obscurity!!!!!!....reality........ Moongarden was corrupted by the dark side of life? or....by the light side?.... ...and the story goes on... ....NO! ...and the story goes deep.....down down downnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn In a new.....forthcoming album called....: NO It's a secret! but everything will fallin down in the deepest reality you can imagine!

Silver Key:
Milanese band SILVER KEY started out as long ago as 1992, as an official tribute act of MARILLION and FISH. They've gained a loyal following by playing live down the years, including concerts with FEM and UBI MAIOR, but after two decades of regular gigging have finally released their debut album of original material “ In the land of dreams” on Ma. Ra. Cash label

It was always their stated aim to do this and at last they have found their own voice. Not Incidentally, the band takes its name from a short story by American writer H. P. Lovecraft where the protagonist loses the magical key that enables him to enter an alternate dimension of dreams. This choice of name for the band symbolises the means by which they can fulfil their own long held dreams just as Lovecraft's character is able to visit his dreamed-of cities.

On 2013 Alberto Grassi and Carlo Monti respectively Bassist and Guitarist of the debut album left the band to be replaced from the current players Ivano Tognetti and Roberto Buchicchio.

On 2015 SIlver Key release the second album “ The screams empire” under Ma.Ra.Cash label. Despite the line up changes, the band confirm here their good creative vein and all the good qualities of the debut album. Their neo-prog sound every now again veers to AOR, but you can hear also more experimental parts and jazzier passages while the lyrics deal with a social science fiction plot set in a dystopic future loosely inspired by the works of writers such as Philip K. Dick, George Orwell or Isaac Asimov.

On July 5th 2017 the leader and founder of the band Yuri Abietti and the drummer Viviano Crimella left the band for personal reasons.

The remaining memebers of the band Davide Manara (in the line up since 1992) and the new players Ivano Tognetti and Roberto Buchicchio take then the responsibility to let the Silver Key continue its journey.

On November 2017 Dino Procopio joined the band and starts to work on the vocals and lyrics of the third labour.
